More Than A Dojo
Pure Martial Arts (PMA), located in Cleveland, North Carolina, has been a cornerstone of martial arts training in the region for decades. Founded by Jared Pressley's sensei, the dojo was passed down to Jared when he turned 18, marking him as the second-generation owner. PMA has a proud tradition of guiding students to black belt levels, consistently producing top-tier martial artists known for their discipline, respect, and competitive excellence.
Under Jared’s leadership, PMA has become renowned for its success in sparring, often recognized as the gold standard at tournaments. Jared, a 2nd Dan Black Belt in American Freestyle Karate and 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan, brings his experience as a 15-time world champion to the dojo. His instruction, alongside Assistant Instructor Ryan Josey—a national-level champion—ensures that students receive training grounded in tradition yet adapted to modern competitive standards.
PMA is more than just a martial arts school; it’s a community that emphasizes life skills, personal growth, and leadership development.
